Tyrant or Leader?

What makes a good leader?  Is it the person that is the loudest?  The person who wears the coolest clothes?  The one with the biggest sword?  Maybe the individual with the most money?  Yesterday morning, during the trainers meeting, we discussed what a good leader is like.
We began by saying what we liked and didn't like about our trainers.  The good and the bad.  For some, this was hard.  For others, it was fairly easy.  The general consensus for what a good leader should be came out to a couple of things.....

First, was to be confident.  A good leader is full of confidence in themselves and those they work with.  They trust in those they work with and around.  Second, be happy.  Love what you do!  No one wants to follow a stick in the mud.  Be energetic and excited!  If  you want others to be enthusiastic and happy, you have to be that happy and enthusiastic.
"A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way , and shows the way."  The ultimate example of a leader, was Jesus Christ.  He showed us the way and the path that we should follow.  He invited us in 2 Nephi 31 to "....Follow thou me."

that was a great post! i hope everything you said about your trainer was amazing! and that you said she is the best misssionary ever! haha. jkjk its true though, a leader has to be the first to do things...it can be scary! but its worth it in the end if you are leading people in the right direction!

That's so true! Awesome post, and I really like the quote about being a leader, going the way and showing the way. I think there is a big difference between going, and showing. It implies teaching and helping.
